1 2 3 and Break!

Finals week is over Hallelujah! I don't think I've ever been as ready for a semester to be over as I was for this one. This semester signifys the end of chemistry classes for Spencer, that lucky duck..I still have one more..We are both ready for this much needed break and the opportunity to spend time together that doesnt involve studying. Because we've been so busy we haven't had much time to do festive activities sooo everyday this week we've decided we are going to do something to celebrate the holidays! Tonights activity is the Christmas lights at Temple Square!

Bad Timing

Thats right I am SICK! Not that there is really a good time to be sick..but now is especially bad because it's time for finals. I am congested, nauseous and my throat hurts beyond measure. Last night as I was trying to fall asleep all I could focus on was how much breathing hurt which led to a looong night and no sleep, needless to say I am exhausted. All of this is making it really hard for me to concentrate on school but the show must go on. I have 1 test down, 3 papers and 4 tests to go and I just hope I make it to winter break. On the up side Spencer has been extra sweet and has taken such good care of me providing anything and everything that I ask for along with unexpected but much appreciated back rubs.
(Please let me get better soon...thanks!)

Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Football

So due to the crappy weather both here and in Seattle our family decided to stay home. We were soo bummed but according to my Aunt the city was basically shut down so we wouldn't have been able to do all the things we had planned anyways. It turned out to be a really fun Thanksgiving weekend and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend some time with our families.
We decided that since we were going to be home we might as well do something a little adventurous..sooo we ventured out at 2 am to do some black friday shopping. We had a few things that we really wanted on our list and we only ended up getting 1 of those things because of all the crazy shoppers, but we figured that it was ok because this was our first black friday experience so we were amateurs. However we still ended up getting a TON of stuff. We shopped from 2-7 am then came home to take a litt le nap and after recharging we headed out again around 11 and didn't stop until 7 pm. I am so surprised that Spencer lasted so long and even more surprised that he was excited about it. I'm so glad that we went it was such a fun experience!
Football, football, football!! In case you didn't know the Byu vs Utah game was this weekend so of course we had to watch. It was a very stressful game to watch and it gave me quite the headache. Needless to say it was anything but boring and it all came down to a field goal kick for Byu. They definitely started celebrating early thinking that they were going to win because how often do people miss field goals right? The mighty Utes pulled through and blocked the kick making the final score Utah 17-Byu 16. It was a great way to end the last rilvary game! GO UTES!!!
Overall the weekend was amazing! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed spending so much time with my hubby! I'm dreading school starting again tomorrow, but there's only a few more weeks left until winter break..

In 1 week..

..I get to put up our Christmas decorations! I am beyond excited!! Now don't get me wrong I love Thanksgiving and it's a close call to which holiday is my favorite. But one thing about Christmas thats better than Thanksgiving are the decorations. I just love the way Christmas decorations make me feel, the twinkle of lights and the beauty of a decorated tree never fails to make me smile. I am especially excited this year because it is our first christmas as a married couple and we have our own home that we get to decorate however we (or should I say I ) want. I have been collecting decorations from the day we got engaged..seriously. Spencer is a good sport and acts excited when I show him my purchases. My collection of Christmas fun has gotten pretty large, however it's not quite complete yet, there are still a couple of special items I need to find but regardless I will get to transform our house and fill it with Christmas spirit very very soon. I can't wait!!!

Thanksgiving is in the air

This is where we will be spending our Thanksgiving holiday, I couldn't be more excited!! My Aunt and her family live there and even though they were here for the wedding not to long ago we were so busy that we didn't really get to spend much time with them so we we're thrilled when my family decided to go visit. I haven't been there in quite some time and Spencer has never been so we will definitely be getting some site seeing in. However the Byu vs. Utah game is that weekend and although most of the family is Utah fans unfortunetly we have some Byu crap talkers among us so we will be taking a break from site seeing to watch the game.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I would like to take a second to say how grateful I am for family, of course i'm thankful for the family that raised me and the unconditional love that they've given to me over the years, I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. I'm grateful for the family that was created on August 6, 2010: not only was our small family created but one much bigger. Spencer's family has been so great to me and I love them so much mostly because they created Spencer just kidding.kinda ;) but also for being so accepting, they are definitely a family of jokers and never cease to make me laugh when I'm around them, I think this picture describes them pretty accurately:

Lately though I've been most grateful for the small family that Spencer and I have started. I love my pokie bear so much and can't think of someone else I'd rather create a future with. He has been such an amazing husband and I know that he will be a great father one day as well. I am so excited to make new memories as we build our own big family together.

Family is everything.

yummmm

We have been running around like crazy, busy as can be and as a result I have been slacking a little in the domestic department lately. It seems like my list grows twice as fast as I can shrink it, but the other day I decided that I wanted to do something in celebration of fall so I made homemade pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. It was the first time I'd ever tried to make them and boy were our tummies happy that I did. The recipe I found was Fabulous, of course I had to make a few adjustments to suite my liking and make it my own but all I can say is YUM. In fact they were yummy enough that they found a place in my recipe book so now we can endulge in them year after year.

I have so much going on in my head and I think it's finally taking a toll...I'm losing my mind!
Today was the third time in the last two weeks that I have gone to run errands
(all of which have not been close to home) and after finding everything I need, go to chekout
and realize that I forgot my wallet! Seriously Nicole...ahh it is soo frustrating! Everytime
I think "whatever I'll just go get my wallet and come back" but that never actually happens. By the time I get home I don't feel like driving back, mostly because I HATE driving soo
much. I guess it saves me from spending money but geez it's annoying.

Lights Out

Took a trip to the grocery store today and to my surprise the lights weren't on.
At first I thought "that's weird..they're closed.." but no, I got to the
door where one of the workers greeted me and asked me if i'd like a flashlight.
Uhh yeah! It was quite the adventure making my way around the store, and even though
it took me a bit longer to find the things I needed it was fun! It took me back to my childhood, when the power would go out and we'd play hide and seek with flashlights. To bad Spencer wasn't there with me, I know he would've had fun.
On a side note, you know what I miss..walkie talkies..I don't know why but
something about them just makes talking so fun. Spencer and I saw some the other
day and seriously considered buying them. Maybe for christmas?..
Anyways I don't know if I'll ever get another opportunity to shop in the dark again,
but it was definitely an adventure I'm glad I got to have.

New Job

Spencer started his new job today and I just wanted to
wish him luck on his first day and tell him how
proud I am of all his hardwork!
LOVE YOU!

21st Birthday

So this post is really late..my birthday was on August 20th but with everything going on I've had a hard time blogging but I am trying to catch up.
My birthday this year was amazing! It was a 3 day event starting off on thursday. Spencer sent me away so he could get things ready and when I got home I was pleasantly surprised by a clean apartment with candles lit, the table set with beautiful flowers and our favorite classical music playing. Spencer had made some pizza dough and sauce and had our favorite toppings spread out. He thought that it would be fun to make it together instead of him making it for us and it definitely was fun. He tried to teach me how to throw the dough in the air and spin it but I was very unsuccessful, it's a good thing that he's so professional at it thanks to his Litza's days. It was sooo yummy and we got to try out the pizza stone we got for our wedding! After dinner we took off to go get gelato for dessert, I can't tell you how much I love gelato! And when we got back home he gave me this:

I have been dying to get a gold watch forever and this one is PERFECT! Not to big not to small, it fits juuust right :)

The next day Friday my actual birthday I didn't have to work or go to school it was so relaxing. Spencer surprised me that morning with another present which I was not expecting, he got us John Mayer tickets!! John Mayer is my favorite and he is amazing in concert I have been talking about how much I wanted to go for months and months so I think that he got the hint. Anyways the reason Spencer and I had celebrated the night before was because my family was going to be in town for just one night and it happened to be on my birthday. It was so fun to see them all again, even though they were just here for the wedding I was soo busy and didn't really get to spend any time with them, so I was so excited when I found out that they were going to be here for my birthday. What an awesome gift! They got in around 8 pm and my aunt who is an amazing cook started right away to make a yummy dinner. Then for dessert my mom had gotten a chocolate cake from Magelby's which if you've never had you should because it is delicious especially with their homemade whipped cream and raspberry sauce YUM! We stayed up late talking for hours, I was so glad to be able to spend that time with them.

To top off my birthday weekend on Saturday we went to Wendover. I mean I was turning 21 so I felt obligated to do something of the sort. Spencer, me and my brother headed up there in hopes of winning some $$. Well I ended up losing $40 but Spencer made up for it by winning $50 so it all evened out. We played blackjack which is my favorite and we tried out the slots but I just don't understand them..maybe i'm dumb but I think they are confusing..Anyways and then at the end of the night we decided to try out our luck at Keno because the sales guy at Macy's had told us his awesome story about winning on two different occasions for a grand total of $7,000. We weren't as lucky as he was but it was still fun and I'm glad that we went!

I had the best 21st birthday I could've asked for and I am so thankful to everyone for making it so amazing especially my wonderful husband thanks for being so thoughtful I love you sooo much!

MARRIED!!!

I can't believe it finally happened! We are officially MARRIED!!!! For all of you that came, thank you for being a part of our special day. The day was perfect even though Spencer had to leave me to go take a final and I almost had a heartattack because of the weather, everything
worked out and we had so much fun. Since the big day we've been busy busy busy, we went on our honeymoon to Cancun which was soo much fun, had some adventures along with some hiccups down there, like me getting so sick I think I puked my guts out...but it was still so nice to get away and be together! The day after we got back we got to go to one of my best friends weddings, it was perfect, she was soo beautiful and they look soo happy together. Congratulations Erin and Zane we love you guys and i'm so glad I could be a part of your big day!! Since that we've been running around like crazy doing a long list of errands and trying
to get our apartment in order before school starts next week.
This summer has just been craazzzzy busy and pretty dang stressful and I think that my body has officially given up on me. Since the middle of our honeymoon I have been siiiiicckkkk,
it has been one thing right after the next and I have to say I am TIRED! Right now I
am congested beyond belief, have a fever and the worst sore throat ever and the only thing that makes it feel better is orange juice which I have been chugging because medicine is
just not cutting it. I'm hoping that this will pass and I will be better but I have a strong
feeling that a nasty cough is coming and i'm really not excited about it. Hopefully I will be better by the weekend because it is my 21st birthday on Friday!! Well this is about all the energy I have right now to write, I'm off to take a nap :) But I will update more later this week..promise..

St. George/Spencer's B-day

So it's taken me awhile to finally post about this, but we have been soo busy! Our trip to St. George with Greg and Mckenzie was so much fun..minus the not so hot weather. We lounged, played golf, shopped, went to the farmers market, walked through gallery stroll, won lots of fruties at the arcade (YUM) and of course ate..and ate. Here are some pictures from our adventure:
Spencer's face is kinda scary haha but the
pizza was awesome! 'Greg! Fire truck!'..Mckenzie pulled off the ladder and

we thought we had broke it but don't worry we fixed it!Pretty scenery
There was a Biggest Loser center out in the middle of no where
so we had to take a picture..look at our muscles!

I tried to climb the tree..but I was very unsuccessful
and I ended up getting scraped all over..

Birthday toast!

The tickets we won to get the fruities!

We tried to find someone to take a picture of at walmart to put on peopleofwalmart.com but then
Greg decided he wanted to nominate himself

Last but not least we stopped in Zions on the way home

it was beautiful!

Overall it was an awesome trip and I can't wait to go back. I hope your birthday was great babe I love you sooooo much!! Hopefully next time the weather will be better and we will actually get some sun!

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

We are officially less than two months away from our wedding!!! AHHH!! We are sooo excited and time can't seem to go by fast enough. Friday we took our engagement pictures and our photographer posted a few on her blog and they look soo cute! I can't wait to see the rest and I will post some as soon as we get them! Spencer did a great job and wasn't as nervous as we thought he'd be, the best part was getting to eat at our favorite mexican restaurant afterwards Baja Cantina..YUM!
On another note we are leaving for St. George tomorrow to soak up some sun and relax for Spencer's 23rd birthday! What an old man.. haha We are going with our friends Greg and McKenzie and we can't wait!!! Four days of nothing to do but relax :)

Laughs, Wins and Birthdays

This Memorial Day weekend was full of fun! We started it off on friday by doing our usual routine of cafe rio and comedy central, they had a pretty good line up and we got some good laughs. Spencer thought it was pretty entertaining to hear me try and talk with an accent from every country I could think of..he says my voices were all the same but I think his hearing is going bad on a count of the fact I found some gray hairs the other day. Anyways Saturday we went to the ReAL game which was way fun and we won 4-1! I was surprised to hear that the band played throughout the ENTIRE game, we kept thinking they would stop but they were very enthusiastic! Sunday was my mom's birthday and Monday was my dad's birthday so to celebrate we went up to our cabin in Kamas to barbeque and relax as a family. The food was sooo yummy and we rented some good movies, my dad wasn't to excited about "Jackie Chan The Spy Next Door" and ended up going to bed in the middle of it but it was a cute movie. On Monday after we got back Spencer and I headed back up to Park City to try and find some outfits for our engagement photos, we were half way successful and both got some good stuff at great memorial day sale prices! It was such a fun weekend and I can't wait for more trips up to the cabin, it's so relaxing up there. This weekend should be fun too at least for me..Spencer is dreading our photo shoot because he thinks he can't smile but I've been making him practice so hopefully they will turn out well. Next Friday, June 11 is Spencer's birthday and we are going down to St. George to celebrate! We can't wait to get away, we definitely need a vacation and it should be really fun!! Anways I'll update about that later, but that's about it for now I suppose!

peonies make me smile

Last week after a long day I went over to Spencer's house to spend some time with him. As I walked in his room I saw these:

My favorite flowers ever are peonies! Everytime we pass by them I always turn to say how much I love them, so I think that Spencer finally got the hint. It was the perfect surprise at the end of a long day and I got to put them in the new vase/pot I bought. They are on my nightstand and I can't think of anything better to wake up to every morning (besides Spencer but these will do for now). Thanks pokie bear I love them and I LOVE you!!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Yesterday I finished the book I've been reading, it's called "The Saving Graces" by Patricia Gaffney, and I definetely recommend it. It's sort of bittersweet finishing a good book,
on one hand you want to know how it ends but on the other hand, when it's over you wish it would just keep going. I have this thought everytime I finish a book and I'm always
worried that I won't find another book that I can get into..but I always do. Spencer and I headed down to Barnes and Noble today and I picked up a new one that hopefully can satisfy me, I'll keep you posted..Also along the same note do you remember having readathon's in elementary school? Maybe I'm just a nerd but those were the best! To bad I'm too old to get the free personal pan pizza's from pizza hut...

monster eye

Last monday Spencer and I went golfing, not just to the driving range actual golfing! Before we started our round we practiced putting and chipping which was fun and not to hard. Well actual golfing was a different story, I don't like doing activities that I'm not good at but I really am trying to not get frustrated with golfing. After hitting a few balls into the water, including the sweet jazz ball, we decided that on the holes that you have to drive over water Spencer would hit my ball for me :) I think we would've run out of balls otherwise..I ended up doing better than I thought I would and got some really good hits in! Well we finally got to the last hole when a bug flew into Spencer's eye. No big deal right?....WRONG! I thought he was just being a cry baby when he kept complaining but eventually it escalated and it turned into this:

You can't quite tell how awful it really was from this picture but it was scary. I have never seen an eye do what his eye did and so I made him go to instacare. On our way in there were a bunch of kids so I told him not to look at them cuz he'd probably make them cry haha and when the doctor saw him he apparently was thinking what I was thinking because he asked us if we had kids and said it was probably good we didn't because he would scare them. It ended up being just an allergic reaction but still took a few days to go away completely. I'm just glad he's ok and that we can laugh at it now.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

First and foremost today is 3 months to wedding day!! I can't believe how slow and how fast time seems to be going by. But the good news is finals are OVER!!! Now we have basically a week to relax before we start summer session, but at least it will keep us busy and time will hopefully go by a little faster. Some other good news is we finally booked our honeymoon last night! This has been something that we've been trying to do for months and really is kind of stressful to plan, but now it's over and we can't wait to go! For 7 days and 6 nights we will be here:

Ahhhh look at that beach it is calling my name!!!

Finals

Of course the week of finals I have to get sick..of course! I feel so yucky and tired but I can't rest because I have to much to do, and to top it off this morning I got the biggest rash over my entire legs, why? I don't know but it sucks!! Ok now that I got that off my chest I'm done complaining :)

My biggest pet peeve!

Some of you may have heard me complain about how irritated I get when people talk in the library. Well today I was surrounded by them but I had already started writing my paper and didn't want to move. This is seriously I think my biggest pet peeve ever!!!!!!! I have the hardest time concentrating when people are talking and I may be wrong but I think it's a rule that people be quiet in libraries....Conveniently as soon as I finished writing my paper everyone that was talking left, maybe I am just cursed and maybe I should just learn my lesson and not come here to do homework anymore.

the small things..

You know how when you first start dating someone and you go out of your way to do small cute things for them? Well I used to do stuff allllll the time I mean I was a pretty cute girlfriend...haha but for the last while I haven't really done anything and I think it's important to still do those little things that show how much you care. So yesterday while Spencer was studying I went to run some errands and make this:

Just a simple candy poster with his favorites..and a couple of mine to :) I mean someone has to help him eat it all. I'm determined to keep doing more stuff like this because really how hard is it, this only took me maybe 20 minutes including travel time from the store, and look how happy it made him haha.

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

creeps..

So I just got an email from some guy apparently his name is Hoder of Asgaard whatever that means..He said he found a flashdrive at the U of U library that is identical to the one he lost several weeks ago and claims he knows that it is his, how can you know a flashdrive is yours they ALL LOOK THE SAME! The problem is it has my files and Spencer's files on it including ones for my business which I need..and especially don't want him to have. He wants to know what happened to the files he had on it because it was "stripped" of all his files. Uh dude I didn't steal your flashdrive and it's creepy that you have it!!!!!! I don't know what he's going to do with it and I'm actually really creeped out...I asked if he would give it back but I think there's a pretty slim chance of that, soooo great. I guess we'll just have to see and I hope that if he does keep it he erases our stuff because there's a lot of personal info stored on that thing and I don't want him to know who we are. CREEPER!!!!!!!

*progress*

This past weekend was full of wedding fun. We haven't done much planning lately and I was starting to worry a bit that we should be doing more. It started off with registering at Target on Friday which I talked about in the last post, then later that night Spencer, me, his parents, and my mom went to dinner at Biaggi's to test out some food for our wedding luncheon and it was soo YUMMY mmmm..After we left we ran into Erin and her new fiance Zane(Congrats you guys we love you sooo much!!) They are such a cute couple and I can't wait for them to get married! The next day Erin, Al, and I went to the bridal expo which got me a little closer to checking some things off my list, and after we went with Erin to a couple bridal shops so she could show us some of her favorite dresses, and wow what a beautiful bride she is going to be in whatever dress she ends up picking, I am so happy I got to take part in such a special occasion. The next day my mom and I went up to park city to try and find some outfits and it was a pretty successful trip overall. Even though we still have a lot to do I feel better now that we've made some progress, and I can't wait til it's finally here(p.s. it's only 3 1/2 months away as of 38 minutes ago and yes i've started to count it down and I'm sorry I know that it's probably annoying but I just can't help it, I'm to excited!).

Registering

This last friday was kind of a rough day for me, so Spencer being the great fiance he is decided that we could go register at target. I have been so excited to do it, but he kept saying that it was to soon, so he knew that going would cheer me up. It definitely did cheer me up but we were a little rushed because we wanted to go to Matt's lacrosse game. I didn't realize that it would take sooo long even though I should've known myself well enough to know it would take FOREVER..needless to say we only made it to the last 5 minutes of the game (whoops! sorry Matt we promise to be on time for the next game). We were there for about 2-2 1/2 hrs and only made a dent but that just means the fun gets to continue :). Well today we went to bed bath & beyond and before we knew it the store was closing..only 3 1/2 hrs after we got there! Registering is a lot harder than I ever thought it would be but the employees were soo helpful and we actually learned a lot about the products, and it definitely got easier after time I think that we got a little trigger happy towards the end. I do have to say though that the little guns they give you at target are waaay better and easier than the ones they give you at bed bath & beyond, either way though we will be visiting both places again.

Nora's 1st BIRTHDAY!

Our cutest and only niece Nora had her first birthday on Monday! She is getting so big and I just can't believe that she is already one! Aaron and Heather threw a birthday party for her at the Edwards. It was so much fun and Nora was walking all over the place, I guess she decided that since she was one she was over crawling. It's so amazing to see her grow up and learn new things I can't wait til we have our own (don't worry Spencer I'm still planning on waiting a few years). Here are some pictures of the birthday girl!

So happy and so CUTE!

Nora in her birthday suit

Opening presents

flying with uncle spencer

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NORA! We love you so much!!! We can't wait to celebrate your many birthdays to come, just don't let them come to fast!

Easter

Easter was so much fun this year. We had an easter egg hunt at the Edwards and then ate a yummy lunch. Having little kids around always makes the holiday's more fun, so having Nora around was such a treat!our easter baskets
haha look how similar, like uncle like niece!

After lunch we headed over to my house to start cooking dinner. My brother's girlfriend's (Courtney) mom and sister came to visit, so we had them over for dinner and games. It was so good to get to meet them and we had so much fun playing pictionary (our favorite game) with them. Brandon and Courtney's sister won...of course because whoever teams with Brandon always wins, it was fitting though because one of the first things they had to draw was a trophy so they were destined to win. Overall it was a great Easter and I'm so glad that we got to spend it with the people we love the most!

My First Calling

So I forgot to mention the other day when I finally updated my blog that this past sunday I got my first calling. At about 12 o'clock that day I got a phone call from a strange number, and well I hate answering calls from numbers I don't know..so..I didn't answer. They proceeded to leave a message saying that one of our counselors wanted to meet with me a few minutes before church. My first thought was that they were going to ask me to speak but usually they will just call you about stuff like that and then my mom informed me..they are probably going to give you a calling. I was some what nervous because I've never had a calling before and wasn't sure if I could live up to the ridiculously high standards that my new ward seems to have (it's true they expect more out of each member in that ward than any ward I've been to, not that it's a bad thing just a little intimidating). So I go into church and sit patiently waiting for Brother Shmidt to come get me, and sure enough I got a calling. To my relief however it's quite a simple one, I was called to be co-chair on the fellowship committee, which to my understanding invovles holding the new member meeting every other week after relief society/priesthood. The girl that I'm replacing is really cute and showed me everything I needed to know, and she says that she usually bakes a treat but I didn't have to..hello!..that's probably going to be my favorite part I need all the practice I can get and treats are perfect for saying WELCOME we're so glad that you are here.

{$50,000 Wedding Giveaway}

Last saturday we got the opportunity to participate in the $50,000 wedding giveaway. Spencer and I headed up to Provo for a day of wedding vendors and excitement. We ended up having a lot of fun, our favorite vendor was "shutter booth" at least I think that's what their name was..anyways they rent photobooths and we decided that it would be awesome to have one at our wedding so we'll see. I have pictures but they aren't on my computer yet so I'll upload them later. After visiting all the vendors everyone gathered around the stage for the raffle and give away. We got really excited and anxious even though we knew there was a slim chance of winning, when it came time to read the name of the winners the lady picked the name and started out by saying NICOLE...and for about two seconds we got really excited but it ended up being another really cute couple standing behind us. So even though we didn't win it was still a fun experience and i'm glad we got to spend the day together, and I cannot wait for our wedding to finally get here!

LEGOS!

I miss being a kid, I always say I can't wait until we have kids so I can play with their toys and have an excuse to go see their fun cute movies again. Well we decided to take a trip down memory lane and play legos!! I looovved it and i'm pretty sure Spencer loved it to! Here are some pictures of our Lego time..
The big mess of all the legos

Spencers sweet cars that he made

The inside of my awesome hut thingy I built

Oh to be a kid again..it was fun to pretend at least for one night! Maybe we can take a trip to legoland sometime that place at least from what I remember is AMAZING, I don't know how they do it, it was hard enough building my little building I can't even imagine trying to build anything even comparable to the stuff they have there..

Golfing

This past week was spring break, and Spencer and I made a list of all the things we wanted to do..we didn't get around to most of them because Spencer got sick but we managed to do a couple and golfing was one of them. Orignally we were going to play a round of golf but it was pretty windy so we decided to just go to the driving range. I was actually the one that suggested golfing which was a big surprise to Spencer, but I've decided that if we are going to get married we should both try and do some of the things each of us loves and Spencer LOVES to golf so I thought i'd give it another shot.

Well Spencer has a lot more skills than I do but it was still so much fun. He kept trying to correct my form and when I listened I actually got some pretty good shots in. I'm excited to work more on my game so I can play a real round of golf and hopefully keep up with him this summer. Thanks babe for being such a good teacher, I love you!

Happy Birthday Alex!

Last monday we got to celebrate our friend Alex's 25th birthday. We went to dinner at Happy Sumo and the Jazz game with him and his fiance Anne.

On our way to dinner
Dinner was so yummy we haven't had sushi in awhile so it was quite the treat. It has been a long time since we've gone to a Jazz game so it was so much fun to be able to go, it was a good game and even better because we won! We don't get together with Alex and Anne as much as we'd like so we were happy we got to spend some time with them and celebrate Alex's birthday!

Yesterday in class we talked about how your beliefs can help or hurt your success. I really liked this list so I thought I'd share it with you all.
Beliefs of Successful (Resilient) People

1. Everything happens for a reason and a purpose, and it serves us.

2. There is NO such thing as failure. There are only results/outcomes.

3. Whatever happens, take responsibility.

4. It's not necessary to understand everything to be able to use everything.

5. People are your greatest resource.

6. Work is play.

7. There's no abiding success without commintment. W.I.T.-whatever it takes

Taxes

I was really nervous this year about my taxes because I had not only my individual taxes to do but my business ones as well. Every year my mom has always done my taxes for me but this year she wanted me to do it myself! I was nervous and at first overwhelmed but my mom was there to help and answer my questions. It took me 4 long hours but it wasn't so bad and I am very happy that my mom forced me to do it because I learned a lot and now I will be able to do mine and Spencer's taxes next year, which will save us some money. Now all I have to do is sit and wait for my checks to arrive :) hopefully I didn't screw them up and the irs won't come after me...

Valentines Weekend

I looove long weekends, and this last one was much needed! Spencer and I don't get to see each other a ton during the week so it was so nice to spend the whole weekend together. I just love cheesy chicks flicks soo much and this weekend I conned Spencer into see 3! haha we saw "did you hear about the morgans?", "when in rome", and of course "valentines day", they were all very cute and Spencer was such a trooper, I Love You! Since it was a long weekend and valentines was on saturday Spencer made it into a whole weekend ordeal. We of course went and saw all the movies, had dinner at Market Street, did some shopping in Park City, had Valentines brunch with the Edwards and dinner with the Lawsons on Sunday, and just spent some real quality time with each other. We decided that this year we weren't going to get presents because we are trying to save..but Spencer was so cute and on sunday he gave me a valentine for every hour of the day with little notes he had written along with the cutest card which of course made me cry, it was better than any present he could have given me i loved it, thanks babe!!

L.O.V.E.

Love is definitely in the air this month! Last Saturday was 6 months to our wedding day, sooooo exciting!!! Of course Valentines day is coming up on Sunday, Spencer apparently has a plan for Saturday to celebrate but won't tell me anything..not even a hint..I usually can get him to give it up but he won't budge this time which is ok I guess because surprises are always fun. And next Saturday, February 20th is our THREE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Can you believe it, 3 whole years..time has flown by and so much has changed.
"As we grow old together, As we continue to change with age, There is one thing that will never change...I will always keep falling in love with you."
I am so happy to have found such an amazing guy to share the rest of my life with, I LOVE YOU Pokie Bear (my nickname for Spencer..cheesy I know)!

dresses and cake!

This last Saturday I had my second dress fitting, I was some what nervous for it because we were making a lot of changes to the dress and I was worried it wouldn't turn out like I had pictured it in my head, but it was beautiful. I can't wait to be able to wear it, it's probably a good thing I'm not taking it home until the end of May, I'd probably end up ruining it from trying it on a million times. After the dress fitting my mom told me of a place in provo she heard had really good cake, and since we were already in American Fork we decided to go try it.The place is called Magelby's and usually i'm not the biggest fan of cake but YUM there chocolate cake was delicious! Since Spencer was at work and couldn't come we decided to buy him a piece so he could try it..he loved it to, but we are still going to go try a couple other places just to make sure nothing else can top it.

Ups and Downs

This last week definitely had it's ups and downs. On wednesday I went to Sundance with Al and Brooke, we were on the search for some celebrities! Unfortunately we didn't see any..but we still had a good time. On thursday we were so excited because Spencer finally got his car back! I finally could stop being his taxi driver and he could assume his usual role as mine, BUT on friday before I could enjoy being a passenger, his car wouldn't start!! He had it for less than a day and it was already broken again..we tried jump starting it and well that didn't work so we took his battery to get checked to see if that was the problem. His battery was perfectly fine which meant that something else was wrong. We decided that we needed to take our minds off of it and go get some dinner, so we made our way to litza's and ran into our friends Megan and Ben, we ended up eating together, it was a nice surprise and the perfect distraction. While Spencer was at work on Saturday his dad looked at his car and one of Aaron's friends that lives across the street saw him and went over to help, and help he sure did, he fixed it!! Hallelujah! We were so excited and grateful to them both, and I finally got to be picked up and driven, I was so happy! BUT don't get to excited, the next day Spencer was about to pick me up for church when surprise surprise he goes to turn on his car and what happens..NOTHING that's what happens, it won't turn on AGAIN! But we decide to forget about it cuz by now we're used to it..and go to church. That night it was our turn to cook the Sunday dinner, and we made the yummiest enchilada's, to bad there aren't leftovers. Afterwards we played some UNO attack, which has become a family favorite. We started out and just played 2 games and when my mom won them both we decided to play another round, after the longest game of UNO I have ever played, due to my family being very competitive and lots of ganging up on each other..my mom still won! She did a victory dance and we all decided we'd had enough, but it was definitely a fun night as always. And hopefully..maybe..this week Spencer's car will really be fixed..cross your fingers!

Productive Weekend

This weekend was very productive,,at least as far as the wedding plans are concerned. I found THE DRESS which I am thrilled about, BEAUTIFUL is all i can say, but it's been quite the long and frustrating hunt so I'm glad it's over with. We also booked our photographer and the dates for our engagment & bridal/groomal sessions, I can hardly wait! My mom keeps telling us we don't know how to smile "natural" and need to practice so we've been striking model poses in the mirror, hopefully we'll get it down in time. I'm pretty sure we've decided on a venue, we just have to make sure our date is available, so updates to come on that. It's weird how fast the wedding is coming it seemed like forever years away when we got engaged and now it's only 6 months away, which is still awhile but it's seems short to me. It feels good to get a few of the bigger things out of the way, I can stop stressing now. Other than that our weekend was pretty low key which is nice after a busy week. Spencer's car has been in the shop for almost 3 weeks now..and do we know when it's going to be done, the answer is NO they keep saying a few more days blah blah blah, I give up and i've accepted the fact that I am now officially Spencer's taxi driver, if you don't know already I hate driving and always make Spencer do it so I guess this is my pay back if only he knew how to drive a manual! Anyways sunday we had our weekly dinner with my family, my mom made "drunken" noodles and pot stickers, it's always so nice to get together and see everyone at the same time, unfortunately my grandma couldn't come she left for Thailand last week and won't be back for a few months, lucky I know, I wish I could be in the sunshine with her but I'm stuck here in the snow, yuck! We miss you though grandma and your funny tanglish (that would be her english and thai accent) you always give us a good laugh!! Our night was cut short because Brandon had an awful migraine so no games, but we are looking forward to next week, I'm making my famous enchiladas that my family has never had..so I hope they love them as much as Spencer and I do.
